Frequently asked questions

What is Telfast and how does it help with hay fever and allergies?

Telfast, also known as fexofenadine, is a non-drowsy antihistamine that helps relieve symptoms of hay fever and allergies, such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and throat. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

Take Telfast as directed by your healthcare provider or according to the instructions on the packaging. It is usually taken once daily with water, and it can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than the recommended dose.

Common side effects include headache, dizziness, and nausea. These are usually mild and temporary. If you experience severe side effects or signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, or swelling, seek medical attention immediately.

Telfast may interact with certain medications. Inform your doctor about all the medications and supplements you are taking. Avoid taking antacids within 15 minutes before or after taking Telfast, as they can reduce its effectiveness.

Telfast is generally safe for long-term use when taken as directed. However, consult your healthcare provider if you need to use it for an extended period, as they can monitor your condition and ensure it remains the best treatment option for you.

Telfast is a non-drowsy antihistamine, so it should not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities until you feel alert and capable.

If you miss a dose of Telfast, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Store Telfast at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Telfast is not recommended for individuals with certain medical conditions or for children under a specific age without medical advice. Always consult your doctor to ensure Telfast is safe for you, especially if you have kidney problems or are elderly.

Many people experience relief from allergy symptoms within one hour of taking Telfast. Full effects are typically observed within a few hours and can last up to 24 hours.

If Telfast does not seem to alleviate your symptoms, consult your healthcare provider. They can assess your condition and suggest alternative treatments or strategies to manage your hay fever and allergies effectively.
