Frequently asked questions

What is Cialis?
Cialis is the brand name for tadalafil, a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It helps men achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity.
Cialis works by increasing blood flow to the penis. It inhibits an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which regulates blood flow in the penis. By blocking this enzyme, Cialis helps maintain an erection when sexually aroused.
Dosage: Follow your doctor’s prescription. The typical dose for "as-needed" use is 10 mg, but it can be adjusted to 20 mg or reduced to 5 mg depending on effectiveness and tolerance. Timing: Take Cialis at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The effects can last up to 36 hours. Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water. It can be taken with or without food.
Cialis for erectile dysfunction is taken as needed, so you do not need to worry about missing a dose. Do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period.
Headache Indigestion or heartburn Back pain Muscle aches Flushing Nasal congestion Dizziness These side effects are usually mild and temporary.
Serious side effects are rare but can include: Sudden vision loss Sudden hearing loss Chest pain or irregular heartbeat Shortness of breath Severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing) Priapism (an erection lasting more than 4 hours) Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of these symptoms.
Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements. Cialis can interact with: Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin) Alpha-blockers Blood pressure medications Certain antifungal and antibiotic medications Other medications for ED
Cialis may not be suitable if you have: Severe heart or liver problems Recently had a stroke or heart attack Low blood pressure Certain rare inherited eye diseases (e.g., retinitis pigmentosa) Severe kidney disease Always consult your doctor to ensure Cialis is safe for you, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
Moderate alcohol consumption is generally safe, but drinking large amounts can increase the risk of side effects like dizziness and may reduce the effectiveness of Cialis. Consult your doctor for personalized advice.
Cialis usually starts working within 30 minutes after taking it, but it can take up to 2 hours for some men. Sexual stimulation is required for Cialis to work effectively.
The effects of Cialis can last up to 36 hours. This does not mean you will have an erection for the entire duration, but you will have increased responsiveness to sexual stimulation during this period.
If Cialis doesn’t seem to work, do not take more than the prescribed dose. Contact your doctor. They may adjust your dose or suggest alternative treatments.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the medication out of reach of children and pets.
Yes, certain lifestyle changes can help manage erectile dysfunction: Maintain a healthy diet Exercise regularly Quit smoking Limit alcohol intake Manage stress and mental health Get adequate sleep Always consult your doctor for personalized advice and before making any significant changes to your lifestyle or treatment regimen.
Cialis is generally safe for long-term use when taken as prescribed. Regular check-ups with your doctor are recommended to monitor your health and ensure the medication is still effective and safe for you. Always follow your prescribers instructions and recommendations for the safe and effective use of Cialis for erectile dysfunction.
