What is Period Pain Reliever 250mg used for?

Period Pain Reliever contains naproxen and is used to relieve period pain, menstrual cramps and dysmenorrhoea in women aged 15 to 50 years. Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that reduces pain and inflammation.

Naproxen reduces the production of prostaglandins, substances involved in inflammation and the muscular contractions that cause menstrual cramps. This helps reduce pain and discomfort during your period.

This medicine is suitable for women aged 15 to 50 years who experience period pain. It may not be suitable if you have certain medical conditions, take other medicines, are pregnant or are trying to become pregnant.

On the first day, take two tablets together. If required, take one further tablet after 6 to 8 hours.

On the second and third days, take one tablet every 6 to 8 hours as required.

Do not take more than three tablets in any 24-hour period or use the medicine for longer than three days during each menstrual cycle.

Yes. Swallow the tablets whole with water, with or after food. Taking naproxen with food may help reduce stomach irritation.
