What is Galpharm Sleep Aid used for?

Galpharm Sleep Aid is used for the short-term relief of temporary sleeplessness. It helps you fall asleep when you are having difficulty sleeping, such as during periods of stress or disruption to your normal routine.

It contains diphenhydramine hydrochloride, an antihistamine that has sedative properties. It works by reducing brain activity to help you relax and fall asleep more easily.

The tablets usually start to make you feel sleepy within 20 to 30 minutes after taking them, so it’s best to take one shortly before bedtime.

No. This medicine should only be used occasionally and for short periods. If you continue to have trouble sleeping for more than two weeks, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

No. Alcohol increases drowsiness and can make side effects more likely, so it should be avoided while taking this medicine.

You should check with your pharmacist before using Galpharm Sleep Aid if you take any other medicines that cause drowsiness or contain diphenhydramine, antihistamines, or sedatives.

Some people may still feel drowsy the following morning. If this happens, avoid driving, cycling, or operating machinery until you feel fully alert.

The tablets do not contain addictive substances, but tolerance can develop if they are used too often. They should be used only occasionally for short-term relief.
